APG COVID-19 Member Update
April 1, 2020
Dear APG Members:

As this unprecedented health crisis continues, APG remains active in advocating on behalf of your practice and the patients and communities you serve.  We will keep you updated with the very latest on COVID-19, any changes in legislation or regulations that you need to know, and best practices that some of your colleagues are implementing to help address this global challenge.
Urgent Alert:
Yesterday, Small Business Administrator (SBA) Jovita Carranza and Department of the Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced the launch of the $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), part of the recently signed Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

The PPP is specifically designed to help small businesses keep their workforce employed.  The SBA stated that…“The new loan program will help small businesses with their payroll and other business operating expenses. It will provide critical capital to businesses without collateral requirements, personal guarantees, or SBA fees – all with a 100% guarantee from SBA. All loan payments will be deferred for six months. Most importantly, the SBA will forgive the portion of the loan proceeds that are used to cover the first eight weeks of payroll costs, rent, utilities, and mortgage interest.”

The SBA and the Department of the Treasury expect to have the PPP running by Friday, April 3.  Please click here to apply for an SBA PPP loan and here to download an application

Privia Health, a national physician-led medical group, mobilized a Coronavirus task force and transitioned more than 2,500 providers onto our proprietary telehealth platform during the first two weeks of the outbreak. Total virtual visit volumes increased from approximately 500 a week to over 6,000 a day in the span of 2 weeks without operational disruption. Privia leveraged its scalable training and education materials, secure cloud-based technology and industry partnerships to swiftly address the safety and financial future of our physician’s practices.
